How to schedule
CPHP provides exceptional presentations to the medical community throughout Colorado regarding the services offered at CPHP and physician health related issues. Physicians and CPHP personnel who are experts in the field of physician health conduct these presentations. Below is a listing of presentation topics that CPHP provides. In addition, CPHP can tailor our presentations to discuss the issues that are unique to your organization.

How to Schedule
If you are interested in requesting a presentation from CPHP please complete the Presentation Request Form. Once CPHP receives your Presentation Request Form, we will carefully consider the feasibility of conducting your requested presentation. Next, a CPHP representative will be in contact with you to discuss your request. Due the overwhelming demand for these services, CPHP recommends that you request a presentation with ample time prior to your requested schedule date for CPHP to accommodate your request. CPHP Services and Physician Health
At the conclusion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:
- Have an understanding of the types of illnesses that can affect physicians and for which a referral to CPHP would be helpful (or necessary)
- Be aware of the common warning signs of illness that should prompt a referral for evaluation
- Understand how the cultural environment in the medical community may exacerbate risk factors and increase denial that health problems exist and/or discourage physicians to seek help
- Be aware of the scope and type of CPHP services available
- Know how to make a referral
- Know what to expect if a diagnosis is confirmed
- Be aware of the possible outcomes based on the type of diagnosis established

At the conclusion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:
- Identify common physician traits that tend to interfere with emotional awareness and/or expression of feelings
- Recognize stressors inherent in the practice of medicine which can contribute to relationship strain and stress at home
- Identify warning signs that a relationship is in trouble
- Become familiar with strategies for developing and maintaining healthy relationships

Women in Medicine
At the conclusion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:
- Learn about the stress women in medicine may endure, based on culture and context
- How has women's entry into medicine changed the field?

Substance Abuse and Addiction Among Physicians
At the conclusion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:
- Understand health issues including substance use disorders of physicians; do they differ from the general population and if so, how?
- Learn the types of situations and/or health issues that may affect physicians' ability to practice with reasonable skill and safety.
- Appreciate the difference between illness and impairment
- Understand why and how physicians addictive disorders need professional peer evaluation, treatment and monitoring
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of illness including addiction among physicians

Occupational Hazards of Physicians and Medical Students

Medical Marijuana-Pros and Cons: What Doctors Need to Know
At the conclusion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:
- Identify the medical conditions which have been shown to benefit from medical marijuana.
- Clarify what is oral-pharmaceutical cannabinoids and what is smoked cannabis.
- Describe the consequences of marijuana use physically, psychiatrically and cognitively.
- Determine how this treatment is viewed currently by the FDA & the DEA and their ultimate relation to the prescribing physician.
- Determine what safeguards need to be in place to protect those who consequences from the treatment would outweigh any potential benefit.
